EU law determines that an insured person from any EU Member State who, due to certain  circumstances (depending on his or her state of health and illness) is unable to receive the healthcare in a timely manner in the Member State where he or she resides, when being authorized by the competent institution can receive the relevant services in another EU country, as well as in Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or the United Kingdom.
