The health insurance funds facilitate application procedures
More and more of the services, offered by the health insurance funds, are transferred online. The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) has announced the completion of an IT project, which makes the access to the needed administrative services faster and easier.
From now on, residents can submit requests to determine the period of state-covered compulsory health insurance and requests to clarify the personal data processed in the register of persons insured with compulsory health insurance to the health insurance funds electronically through the electronic services platform of the NHIF at https://e.vlk.lt/auth/start.html.
Persons accessing this platform are identified via the E-Government Gateway. The access is available not only to users of online banking services, but also owners of personal identification cards and mobile devices with an electronic identification device. Also those, who use cryptographic USB media or cards, issued by the Centre of Registers.
The convenient electronic application forms are easy to understand and fill out. Information on the application submitted is delivered to the applicant by mail or e-mail.
Applications to determine the state-covered compulsory health insurance period may be submitted by all eligible permanent residents of Lithuania. The list of residents, covered by the Compulsory Health Insurance (CHI), is available here.
Information on the validity of the CHI and documents that residents intending to have their CHI covered by the state must submit with their application, can be found here.
Residents are kindly reminded that accessing the NHIF e-service platform, they can also check the validity of their CHI, order a European Health Insurance Card, check the information on the healthcare services, provided to them, medicine prescribed, etc.
