Representatives of the health insurance funds introduced healthcare services for Ukrainians

The number of Ukrainians staying in Lithuania due to the war in Ukraine keeps increasing, but they keep struggling with finding their way in the complicated stream of information. Healthcare-related questions are particularly relevant. Therefore, representatives of the health insurance funds were invited to take part at the webinar on Healthcare Services for Ukrainians, organised by Vilnius office of the International Organisation of Migration (IOM).

Žydrūnė Baigienė, Advisor of the Service Management Division of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) under the Ministry of Health, who took part at the event, delivered a detailed presentation on the documents that Ukrainians should have to receive healthcare services in Lithuania, reimbursable services and cases when they are reimbursed, also how to get compulsory health insurance coverage, where to go for a consultation, etc.

The large number of the participants of the seminar had lots of specific questions about the Lithuanian healthcare system, sharing various situations, sometimes encountered by Ukrainian citizens, fleeing to Lithuania because of the war. Rolanda Janukienė, Head of the NHIF E-Services Division, helped the webinar’s audience to get answers to all of their questions.

The event was also attended by representatives of Vilnius Antakalnis Outpatient Clinic and Vilnius City Mental Health Centre, who encouraged the audience to come to Lithuanian healthcare institutions whenever they are in need of healthcare services.

This was already the second webinar, organised by IOM Vilnius Office in cooperation with the National Health Insurance Fund. A similar webinar last year was dedicated to the migrants returning to Lithuania.
