Assistance to Ukrainian war refugees: experts published a memo on health care services available in Lithuania
The Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund have issued a memo to assist the refugees, who were forced to leave Ukraine due to the military action of the Russian Federation, in receiving focused and precise information on health care services in Lithuania.
All these persons, who have left their homeland in the turmoil of war and eventually reached Lithuania, have lots of questions, related not only to registration, accommodation, employment or education possibilities, but also to health care.
What health care services are available? Which of them are provided free of charge? What is the procedure of getting the needed service and where to apply? What vaccinations are available? What are the possibilities of continuing treatment of serious diseases? What is the procedure of getting the necessary medication? Answers to all of the above and many other frequently asked questions have been provided in the Memo of Health Care Services for Foreign Refugees, who left Ukraine due to the Military Actions of the Russian Federation.
The memo is available in Lithuanian, English, Ukrainian and Russian languages on the websites of the National Health Insurance Fund and the Ministry of Health. Its hard copies will also be handed out at migrant registration centres, treatment institutions, territorial health insurance fund departments, etc.
