Nursing and supportive care services include treatment, nursing (palliative care services, home care), other minimal health support services / facilities for people of any age with chronic illnesses. Also for the disabled and other patients with a clear diagnosis of the disease and no need for active treatment and contraindicated medical rehabilitation. Patients are hospitalized in a personal health care facility when a final diagnosis is made and no further testing is required. Nursing and supportive care services are paid for by health insurance funds from the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund, so the patient does not have to pay extra for them.

Palliative care services are measures to improve the quality of life of a patient with an incurable progressive illness that has reached an incompatible stage and of his family to alleviate the physical and psychological suffering that helps to solve other psychosocial and spiritual problems. These services can be provided in an inpatient, day inpatient or outpatient facilities. Palliative care services according to their competence are provided by a team of specialists, which consists of a doctor, a nurse, a nurse's assistant and a medical psychologist, and in the provision of palliative care services on an outpatient basis, the team also includes a social worker. Referral from the treating physician is required to receive palliative care services. The nursing hospital can be chosen by the patient or his relatives. Most importantly, the selected hospital should have signed a contract with the territorial health insurance fund.

Home care services are personal health care services that are provided in a patient's home. They aim to ensure the availability of care services, the continuity of meeting the patient's care needs at home, as well as promoting self-care and improving the quality of life. A referral for outpatient care at home (ASPN) is issued by the patient's family doctor. They are provided by community and / or general practice and / or advanced practice and / or mental health nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists. During the visit to the patient receiving ASPN services, all the necessary examinations, treatments, nursing, etc. actions are performed for him that are provided in the medical norm of the specialist providing these services.
