Primary dental care is a complex of non-specialized primary dental personal health care services. These services include: treatment of tooth decay, treatment of pulpitis, some types of periodontitis, removal of tartar, extraction of teeth and tooth roots, diagnosis of precancerous diseases, prevention of children's tooth decay (smoothing services), detection and prevention of occlusal abnormalities, placement of temporary splints in the treatment of dental injuries, etc.

The institution that has entered into an agreement with the territorial health insurance fund (THIF) for the reimbursement of the costs of primary outpatient personal health care (PAASP) is responsible for the provision of primary outpatient dental health care services. Therefore, as a general rule, if you need dental treatment, persons covered by the compulsory health insurance fund who are reimbursed from the budget of the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund should consult the dentist of the PAASP care institution to which they are registered. If the institution does not provide primary outpatient dental health care services itself, these services must be provided by a tripartite agreement between the institution providing these services, the PAASP institution and the territorial health insurance fund. Also provide the patient with all the information - what kind of dental office and where provides dental services reimbursed by the health insurance funds to the patients enrolled in that institution.

It is important to know that health insurance funds pay for the work of a doctor, and the patient will have to pay for medicines, fillings or other dental materials, one-time measures, depending on the amount of materials used, the means of purchase and their purchase prices. The exception applies (no need to pay for medicines, fillings or other dental materials, disposable items) for children, pupils in full-time general education schools, full-time units of vocational schools up to the age of 24, and socially disadvantaged individuals (then it is necessary to submit a certificate from the social support department of the municipality of residence).
