People, who have left Ukraine due to military action of the Russian Federation, will receive essential prescription drugs free of charge

Ukrainian residents, including unaccompanied minors, who came to the Republic of Lithuania from Ukraine due to the military action of the Russian Federation and have registered at the registration centre of the Migration Department, will receive not only the essential healthcare services, but also medicine, prescribed by doctors for outpatient treatment in Lithuania, free of charge. Prescription medicine costs will be covered from the state budget.

Personal healthcare experts will be able to prescribe medicine for persons that have left Ukraine, using electronic and, in exceptional cases, hard copy prescription forms (form 3 or 2 (in case of prescribing narcotic or psychotropic medicine)), using the healthcare e-system identification, based on the electronic health record (EHR) that will be assigned to each foreigner upon registration at the Migration Department.

Upon arrival at the treatment institution, a person that has left Ukraine will have to provide a registration card from the Migration Department. The foreigner will also have to provide it at the pharmacy while picking up their prescribed medicine.

Prescribed medicine for persons that have left Ukraine may be prescribed for a treatment period that is no longer than one month, except for cases, when the smallest package of the medicine is intended for a treatment period longer than one month.

Upon arriving to Lithuania and registering at the Migration Department, Ukrainian citizens that have run away from the country due to Russia’s invasion, can receive emergency medical care, pregnancy care, childbirth assistance and other necessary level I, II and III personal health care services, lack of which would result in the health deterioration to a level requiring emergency medical care. Foreigners that have left Ukraine can also receive COVID-19 vaccinations, while children can be vaccinated according to the preventive vaccination calendar.
The assessment of the state of health and prescription of the necessary health care services and outpatient medication for outpatient treatment can be conducted by an attending physician. Foreigners can address any treatment facility, offering general medical services, on their own.

For emergency medical attention, contact the nearest medical facility or call the general emergency number 112.
