Many health and compulsory health insurance (CHI) issues and problems can be clarified and solved from the comfort of your own home, whether online or by phone. This is particularly important during a pandemic. „E-services for the residents“ section (in Lithuanian language) of the website offers a wide range of online services: check whether a person is insured with CHI; find out what is the cost of treatment and medicines; order a European Health Insurance Card; check where you are in your queue for a joint replacement or a treatment facility, etc.

A survey of the Lithuanian diaspora shows that only a small proportion of foreign Lithuanians are not aware of the possibility to benefit from free essential healthcare services in their home country or to receive reimbursement for expenses incurred during treatment in Lithuanian medical institutions.
